What foods are you loving right now?

Right now for me it has to be strawberries, the warm April seems to have given us a bumper crop of super tasty juicy berries. If there's a more delicious way to spend a small amount of calories I haven't found it.

Also beetroot, which might possibly make you less susceptible to craving junkfood via it's ability to regulate the dopamine receptor. Not sure if it's true but I have a great healthy eating mojo at the moment and I've been eating a lot of beetroot.

What food are you loving at the moment?

Had some lovely Wexford strawberries at the weekend. And got some nice raspberries at the country market on sat too.

But to be honest I am still loving soup. I'm absolutely frozen these days even though its supposed to be summer and there is nothing like it to warm you up...

Definitely agree with the strawberries and beetroot, absolutely loving both! Also eating apricots lately and homegrown cabbage and peas!

Rhubarb and strawberries and sugarsnap peas. The last are a bit of a guilty pleasure, because I know they have stupid airmiles on them, but I still love them.

Gah! Me too :o I buy a big bag and mindlessly eat them like I used to do with crisps, so good.

It's weird because I have almost a phobic hatred of cooked peas, a dish is ruined in my eyes when a pea has touched it.:)

How do you cook your rhubarb? Can't enjoy it myself without copious sugar.

I forgot to add pink grapefruit to that list. I bought a set of cheap ass knives in Lidl the other day. They were 7 euro so I figured if they couldnt be sharpened then what was the loss anyway. As it turns out they sharpened up insanely well with the steel that came with them. Use a filleting knife to chop through my grapefruit. I cut it into quarters first, then scopp out the fruit section with the blade and then chop that in half. Eating it without getting it on your lips means you dont get that stingy irritation that often puts people off eating it in the first place!Epic post workout carb to ease off the hypoglycaemia hahaha

Mangetout and runner beans chopped up really finely and added to pasta near the end while it's boiling.

It's weird because my guilty pleasures are usually sugar and MSG ridden junk food, but there's something about the little crunch they add that I don't think I'll ever leave it out again.

I'm not loving a food as much as a thing, my pressure cooker. Odd cravings for goulash are now satisfied in an hour!

Seriously recommend it to anyone on a budget, tough as boots meat is rendered the same texture as butter, just don't brown it first, that's where I was going wrong.

I never realised how sweet sugar snap peas were raw having only ever cooked them before. Have pretty much eaten a good size bag of them off since last night and this morning dipping them into mascarpone cheese and hummus!

Middle of winter for me so I'm loving butternut squash and pumpkin. It makes great soup and great roasting - yum! Cheap as well. A colleague today paid $4.50 for a red pepper in the supermarket. That's over 2EUR for one pepper. Buying veg out of season is just not worth it.

Also eating a lot of stews at the moment. I got a Le Creuest casserole dish which I've been coveting for a while so making stews/casseroles is an extra pleasure. Can't get enough of them.

I also have an odd thing at the moment for mars bars. I haven't eaten them for years but recently I've been craving them a lot. I eat a mini one every night with a cup of milk. So satisfying!

Ate a whole jar of it today :o feeling kinda guilt, but man was it good :D. if I'd bought 2 jars that would be gone too :o. I'm even trying to justify it by saying it's all the vitimans in it that's making me eat it. Seriously though been washed out all week, and this just hit the spot.......wait till I need my next fix :o.
