Question for any Kia guys on here. Sister had a knocking come into her Sportage's engine (2.0 CRDi) over the weekend and mechanic said it's probably terminal. (I would suspect she would have stayed going until it didnt :) ) Are these engines easy to pick up 2nd hand? Are they in any other Kia models or indeed any other cars?

    Thanks.

Hyundai is Kia's sister company and used the same engine in some of their vehicles.

Had my engine go in my 2002 santa fe 2litre CRDi it took a while to find a

    second hand engine for it,

but finally found one in Limerick PM me and ill give you the number he deals in

all 4x4 , the price iirc was 1500 euro without the turbo, there was also a

crowd in dublin was charging 2400 for a reconditioned one but you have to give them your old engine.

Is the Santa Fe engine the same as the Sportage?

Anyone got anymore info on this? Seem to be rare enough to get 2nd hand as thebull mentions below.

Are any of the Hyundai engines the same?

I know they share a common platform but are the engines (specifically the 2.0CRDi) definitely the same in both?
