    Just bumping this thread to see if this is still the case? I just want to use up about EUR20 O2 credit before porting my number.

    I think if you buy a locked phone, you can probably unlock it to use an O2 SIM and credit... But not sure it's worth the hassle, if you have the option of just using it up first.

    But... if you're porting the number, the old SIM will be deactivated in the process anyway, right? So you'd outright lose the credit, and not be able to use it in anything.
