Road Tyres for a Lapierre Tecnic 500 MTB

I have a 2010 Lapierre Tecnic 500 which I want to use for some short/medium spins on the road, in and out of town etc. Its a a bit of a bitch with the off road tyres I have on it at the moment - especially on hilly bits.

Could anyone suggest some good road tyres that I could put on the existing rims?

Or would it be a better option to get new wheelsets with road tyres and change the wheels over as needed? Seems like it might be a easier changeover than having to change the tyres each time , the bike has disc brakes so that makes it easier i believe? ... how expensive would new wheelsets be?

    Any recommendations?

    Current Rims:Mach1 Subzero 32 hole
    Current Tyre:Hutchinson Python 26x2.00
