Painting Melamime Covered Wardrobe Doors - Primer & Colour Query

Ready to start painting five large built-in bedroom wardrode doors.

They're chipboard with a melamine coating with a slight grain. Dark Grey/Blue. Ceiling to Floor. White base cabinets, looking to leave these as is.

Went to colortrend shop (paint factory) out in celbridge. Was dissuaded from getting B-I-N Primer despite comments on the forum.

Was suggested that I use E-S-P (colourless) first then just two coats of the satinwood. Also they only had "eggshell" in certain colours and they thought it might get grubby quickly.

Any thoughts on B-I-N - surely I need a primer/undercoat or is ESP plus double satin a better bet?

Also on the satinwood - French White a safe choice?

    Thanks
