Laptop Battery

Basically my laptop battery slowly got worse and worse. It would only last for 15 minutes for example and about 2 months after that the laptop would die immediately when the charger was removed. So, assuming the battery was just worn out (had laptop 3 years, has been used night and day for those 3 years :P), I bought another one. The new one only lasted around 5 minutes following full charge and now dies immediately when the charger is removed (2 months later). Any way in which this problem can be easily fixed? I don't really need my laptop to be away from a power source but I'd like to be able to bring it to the jacks or whatever around the house. I'm just wondering if there is any simple solution?

Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite if that helps at all.

Where did you get the new battery? If it was a cheap ebay jobby, it could just be faulty.

Tried amazon first but they don't deliver batteries over here. Was going to get a cheap ebay thing but I need the new battery fairly pronto so I went more expensive but somewhat local! I hadn't used the above site before but someone else vouched for it so considering the problem occured with 2 batteries I'm assuming it's my laptop and not the batteries!

I've used them before and thought they were grand.

Batteries will degrade over time, so the first battery's issue was purely down to the number of times it was charged, and depleted. It's just the new battery that seems faulty. I'm not too sure what caused this to be honest.
