So, I'm really craving some good, exciting football and I am guessing that everyone else feels the same.

Figured that it would be a good idea to start a thread where we can post about upcoming games or tournaments during the summer months.

Is there anything coming up in the next week or two?

I've been watching Norwegian football since the current season started in March. It's a decent quality league and there have been some suprise results in the games I've watched. It's seems like it is one of those anyone can beat anyone leagues.

Bit of J-League, bit of MLS and a lot of LOI...the summer isn't that bad :)

    Brazilian league is quality.

You do realise there are several LOI games every week in Dublin where you could get your fix of good exciting football all summer? For example Rovers won 6-1 last night playing some lovely stuff in the process, Shels won 4 nil, Pats played in an entertaining 1 all draw with Derry all on your doorstep. Find it a bit sad that people who claim to be having withdrawl symptoms from football will watch any kind of football - U21s, U17s, womens, Norwegian league etc. on TV but wouldn't in a million years consider getting off their arse and go to see their own country's best teams play all summer.

Russian Premier League - Moscow played Rubin yesterday, MLS and some of matches from the brazilian league and argentinian league too are on espn or setanta.
Eurosport show some Gold Cup matches.
Copa libertadores final is on June 15th and June 22nd Penarol vs Santos

Most of whats on now is on during the night, my sleep pattern has gone to ****e.. I go to bed at around half 5 and wake at about 2

It's just a tiny bit annoying when threads like these come up where people are dying for some football after the EPL has finished up and most wont even consider the LOI. I have to bite my lip on the internet and when some people I know say it in real life.

There's plenty of teams in Dublin, you don't have to go out and support your true local side, just take a trip to the best game in the city that weekend.

Cant believe that people wont go to a LOI game and would rather watch football on tv. Nothing beats the smell of the fresh cut grass mixed with the buzz of the chattering fans as the teams take to the pitches, the thrill of being right there in the thick of it cheering for a team who are wearing the crest that means so much to me, I dont care where those players are from as soon as they pull on my jersey, so that "they are not even local" doesnt wash with me at all.

They are my team, make my weekends amazing and I am a Mons fan.

Gutted I cant get to Galway tonight to see them play Salthill and is only 2nd game I will have missed this season.

Anyway, we are never gonna convince some so called football fans that they should give it a go coz they have their fake loyalties to foreign teams to get their blood pumping instead of the real live heart fluttering moments of the LOI.

Cheers, hopefully we'll get to see Clev smalling jones and welbeck have a good tournament together, will be interesting to see how a smalling/jones partnership does knowing they should be both at United next year.

    Looking forward to this match.

Do you regularly smoke crack during the games?

No but it feels like it sometimes like tonight being 2-1 down and coming back to win 2-5! Happy days! Floating now. :D

I'm re-opening this on the provisio that all future posts are about football that is happening either live or on TV over the next couple of months. Anybody else dragging it off-topic or posting nonsense around types of fans or football will receive a red card infraction and a 2 week ban at a minimum.

I will probably go to a match or two.

Still more interested in international football or any pre-season tournaments involving Spanish, English, Italian, French and German clubs.

It starts off that way but you'll be surprised how quickly that changes ;)
