Now I hope this doesnt happen for a very very very long time, at least till im 80, but ever wonder what your funeral would be like, who would show up for it etc?

I'd be more interested in reading my obituary, tbh. The funeral would be good, though. It'd be amusing to hear what those family members who grate on my nerves have to say about me, once I'm dead.

Not trying to derail the thread to current affairs - however, David Norris has prepared a CD of himsef to play at his funeral.

It starts with "I don't think you were expecting to hear from me quite so soon, but..." etc

Seems like a very nice idea. Video, written message - why not?

Anyone experienced that, apart from a will?

If the way i hope i die goes to plan, there wont be a funeral.
But if it doesnt, i dont want any long boring mass. Just a very quick burial and a piss up.

I have told my husband what I want, so hopefully it will go as planned.

A civil ceremony with various pieces of music that I like.
The celebrant will lead the ceremony, but the content will be mainly personal comments, readings, music from family and friends.

And I will be buried here (check out the cool ass jet black horses that carry the coffin!)

I know it won't matter a damn as seeing as how I will be dead, but still.

I know of (wasn't there myself) a teenage kid who had terminal cancer and had time to prepare his last wishes and explain them to everyone.

Dress code at the funeral was his football team current away strip, and as far as I know, almost everyone complied.

I wouldn't give two f@cks who turned up and who didn't.

Funerals are like weddings, i.e. no one wants to go to either; but you don't have to fork out cash or a present for a funeral.

I wouldn't like a eulogy of any sort; especially one which see me being called a 'patriot', if I had shafted the lives of all around me for the sake of the lifestyles of a few.

It pisses me off that i can't go to my own funeral. Id say it will be great craic, cos Im so awesome and all the cool kids will be there. Actually i think ill have my funeral a week before im scheduled to die...so i can sure everyone grieving the appropriate amount.
