This used to be the best clothes shop around. The last two years, both the EU shop and american shop have been very meh. Anyone agree? Is there any shops simular to it in Ireland?

the hipster crap has been meh all the time. Everthing else is deadly. From a blokes pov anyway.

I do think its gone downhill but it could be that its become very in fashion and you can buy the same for less elsewhere.

On a separate note Urban outfitters seemed to be very "frowned upon" by a few "art skool kidz" in my college as "fake"? I find it funny when i see them wearing UO's they picked up secondhand but refuse to admit it, declaring it "vintage". lolz! Snobbery comes in all sorts!

Good for birthday presents where they sell books and stuff, but I can't afford any of the clothes in there and tbh none of them are particularly amazing.

Used to love it when I lived in America 2 years ago, and for a while in Ireland that year too. Then it just turned hipster mad, not my style at all. They have simple stuff that is way overpriced, like plain t-shirts and plain tops. Just not for me anymore. I used to spend €300 in one go when I got to one!

Still like their jewelry and the gift stuff, but just tend to look at it, not buy much. Swear by my girly hipflask though :pac:

YEs, I agree. You can always pick up some nice things as presents.

I think I've only bought one item of clothing from UO as it's ridiculously priced and the quality doesn't seem great. I think the guys range is better than the girls.

I also found that UO clothing only fits people who are tall, willowy and can pull of clothes 'draped' on them... guiltily I did buy a pair of black Cheap Monday skinny jeans in 2004 (when they were not popular and boy did they cost me an arm and a leg!), but have never bought anything else since. So expensive!!

The top floor in the one in temple bar is good for bargains...the accessories are great too. In general its overpriced and nowhere near as fabulous as the ones in the states...I remember going to the one in New York years ago and coming out laden down...

gotten some great things for cheap in the sales - a pair of high waisted denim shorts that i've worn for years and a brilliant pair of wedge shoeboots, but in latter years it has been harder to find anything unique enough to be worth spending the money on. the quality is often poor; lace has come off dresses, buttons fallen off cardigans on second wearing, so unless i have time to check it over thoroughly, i'm quite wary of buying things there. it's a shame. they've a bad reputation for copying smaller craftspeople's designs which also turns me off buying stuff but still prefer it to topshop personally.

I walked into it for the first time a few weeks ago (after I had hear loads about it) I literally walked around once and left. Nothing at all caught my eye D:

I love it for some statement pieces but its very expensive and too "out there" for my liking

I find them very hit and miss. However, their sales are amazing! I always pick up nice tees and tanks for €10-15 and cheap jewelry when there's discounts.

Some of the stuff is fab, but the stuff that tries to be all ironic and quirky is a load of emperor's new clothes sh1te and can **** off...

I've notice the other day that most of the clothing I have from UO is from that pins and needles brand and BDG. The mark up they have over here is absolutely ridiculous might google around to see if anywhere else carries these brands a bit cheaper.

A few years ago I bought a skirt for 25 euro on sale it had been marked down from 64 euro... Huge mark down.. until I peeled back the euro sticker and found the sterling tag that had 36 sterling on it... Thats a 21 pound mark up for the Irish market!!

Their staff seem to have become a bit friendly over the years to thank god. My Mum loves the place as they stock clothes that she used to where when she was younger.... vintage....

I picked up quite a lot in UO when I was in New York, but here, it is a bit over-priced for my liking. As Twee said, their sales are good. The majority of what I own from UO, I bought in sale.

I love their homewares actually! I have UO bed sheets and loads of other cool wee things for the kitchen. :)

BDG is Urban Outfitters exclusive unfortunately. If you order from America. They pay the irish duty on it. So you don't get stung with a huge tax bill.
