No Party For Billy Burns

We are shooting an independant feature in Cavan this Summer and we are trying to raise three grand through fundit.ie in order to feed and transport a voluntary crew for two weeks.

The film is going to be an off beat comedy/tragedy about a simple fellow who wishes he was a cowboy. He works in the local mart and helps out farmers and is basically the closest thing you would get to a cowboy in a modern setting. As the story plays out he and his grandfather, who he believes was once a famous gunslinger, become marginalised by the attitudes of small town life, and when the grandfather takes a turn, Billy's imagination gets the better of him and he heads into town to seek revenge.

We are hoping to find the elegiac tone of some of these revisionist westerns and neo westerns of the 70's in order to help show how all these wild and eccentric country characters are dying out and giving way to a very bland and sterile modern way of life.

We ask you to have a look at our page and if you like the sound of the film we want to make, you can help us by pledging a small amount towards getting this film off the ground.

Please folllow the link and check out the little teaser that i hope gives a sense of the tone we are hoping to achieve with the film.

    Thanks
