Newsflash: Roche just fell nastily there, looks ok and back on his bike, but surely out of contention now !! :(

Just turned on to see it. Nasty road rash - wonder if it will put him out of the Tour.

Just saw a live feed his shorts are almost completely ripped off on one side. Lots of road rash. Doesn't seem to be trying to get back on either just riding to the finish

Very nasty road rash. The other guy looked out of it. I hope there's nothing serious. Roche didn't break anything, it seems.

Think he just slid along the deck so shouldn't have anything broken. Wouldn't fancy that road rash on the thigh though.

Back on according to Kirby - find that hard to believe, he must have lost nearly a couple of minutes with 20k to go?

If he has made it back he has some balls... the front group is MOVING

Ag2r-La Mondiale’s team manager Vincent Lavenu told Francetelevisions that Nicolas Roche has no fracture. "It’s a disillusion for him, he wanted to do well at the Dauphiné and it’s game over now", the Frenchman declared.

Quick Step's Andy Cappelle crashed at the same time as Nico. Cappelle has been taken to hospital, hopefully he is ok.

Well done to Dan Martin in 8th.

That type of stage finish would have suited Roche, pity

great win for Kern. Everyone was watching Voecklar but nobody thought one of his team mates would go for the win!

    Good effort by Dan Martin.
    Hope Nico is ok.

Another strong ride from Christophe Riblon, finishing in the group with Wiggins, Evans and Martin.

    Anyone know where Nico finished?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,081 ✭✭✭GetWithIt

He doesn't appear to have finished. Must have stopped not that long after crashing. Official results go down to 159th @19mins and no sign.

I'm refreshing this page every few minutes.
159 riders have been classified so far but still no sign of Nico.... :(

The transponder on his bike would be gone if he changed after the crash so might have to wait for the manual results.

163rd @ 25 mins with a couple of teammates for company.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,506 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Roche finished 163rd, 25min 06sec behind along with team mates Hinault and Perget.
Fair play to him for finishing!

GetWithIt is always a step ahead of me with updates!:pac:

Good to see Ag2r have become an Irish team however and lead the team classements

What a bummer as fancied Roche's chances today. Not steep enough for Dan Martin but looking good for him tomorrow and Sunday.
Wiggins looked comfortable and seems in great shape. Hope he can hold on. Evans sandbagging? Brajkovic also? Should be fun tomorrow but poor Nico won't sleep too well
