OSV and expansion pipe the same one ?

Recently got a stove plumbed into my OFCH system and I am a bit concerned that its not done right.
Haven't had a chance to put it on full whack yet as the thermostat needs to be replaced (plumber is coming back
    to do this later today)

    Questions
    1) From the diagram attached you can see that he has combined the OSV and the feed pipe in 1. They separate
just outside the F&E tank. Is this common practice ? From what I have seen online the feed pipe needs to be 6 inches or more
    after the OSV pipe.
2)Also, the OSV pipe shoots straight up into the attic. When we turned it on first, all the hot water seemed to just
go straight up the pipe. I am thinking that we should move the OSV pipe to the right a bit more so that the hot water does
not have a free run straight up into the f&e tank ?

Not a recommended method especially if there is a solid fuel system involved, Building Regs require a seperate feed and expansion pipe on a stove and they must be rigid ie copper. Also the f&e should be sized for SF with a copper ballcock.
