FAI Season Ticket

Just got an email from the FAI.

I don't live in Ireland anymore so won't be taking up the offer, but I'd be amazed if anyone forks out €270.

The play off game (if it happens) could be a massive game, but the rest won't even be a sellout...

Would have thought the FAI would learn from the Nations Cup disaster.

€189 for adults and €55 for kids is as good as you can expect for me. Good deal from the FAI about time.

I agree the childrens ticket is pretty good, but I still can't see the attraction for buying a season ticket unless you are an avid fan and will be going to at least 6 of the games anyway.

Taking the potential play-off out of the equation (as this will be a sellout if it happens), you are left with two competitive games which you should be able to get tickets on the day for, and 3 or 4 friendlies against unknown teams, again which you will be able to get tickets for.

These friendlies might be against rubbish teams which even a strong supporter may not be bothered to go see.

The match day food and beverage discounts are interesting though, I wonder what exactly this entails...

    It's not too bad.

Based on what price ticket were a year ago I reckon one could make e90 in savings

Here is a breakdown for someone like me who would get upper tier tickets.

If you divide e189 by 7 you get e27

    1. Friendly was e40, now e27, saving e13
    2. Slovakia, was e50, now e27, saving e23
    3. Armenia, was e50, now e27, saving e23
    4. FAI Cup final, was e10 (in 2010), now e27, loss e17
    5. Play-off, was e50, now e27, saving e23
    6. Friendly was e40, now e27, saving e13
    7. Friendly was e40, now e27, saving e13

    Total saving e91.

They don't include an inflatable tricolour hammer or leprechaun beard??? That's a deal breaker for me.

The ability of the average best fan in the world (tm) to whinge never ceases to amaze me.

€27 a game, including 2 qualifiers, a probable playoff, the FAI cup final and odds on a game against England, plus money of x, y and z and its still not good enough.

What exactly would be good enough?

I don't think its a massively bad deal, I just cant see it getting a lot of takers when you can pick and choose the good games. Season tickets are generally bought for significant savings and to guarantee you get a seat. While the savings are pretty good, the only game there that I could see being a sell-out is the play off, which may not even take place.

Perhaps once they release the names of the Friendly teams it will get more interest. Where did you hear we might be playing England? First I've heard of this, would probably make a trip back home if this happens tbh... was at the infamous game in Landsdowne Road where they tore the place apart.

Well what price should they be ?

Honestly I cannot see you getting an upper tier ticket for any of the international games on the day for under €30, so you are making a saving.

Also I believe the Slovakia game may be a sell out based on what is at stake.

That is now very reasonable for a father and son.
