Hi Folks - I'm in the process of rescuing an old Dawes steel frame bike for the OH and the primary stuff is now complete, wheels, gears, brakes.
Just wondering what's the best solution bring back the various steel parts which have spot rusting on them (handlebars, seat post, brakes levers, etc.) Someone said a brillo pad any other tips and tricks out there, I would like to complete this weekend.

It doesn't have to be a Brillo Pad - any steel wool will do. Also you might want to finish with something like Autosol metal polish.

Went with the steel wool and some silicone spray that I had - few more miles left in this one yet, just a few mud gards to go.

+ a few cabel ties, a Tesco fruit basket and baby seat attachment and she can do the shopping :p

Which gauge wool did you use?

Could only get medium (000), that done the trick.
