    Only on facebook,mind:)

I only use facebook to keep in contact with a select few friends who are far away but cannot help ripping the p1ss out of inane posts on my wall.

I cant believe people take this so seriously and am aware of the clowns that post of their every movement, but to publish your whole life with breakups, arguments and photos....oh, the bloody newborn photos:mad:

Does anyone else relentlessly abuse(in a joke with a jag banter way) their friends on facebook and what has been the outcome?

Just to reiterate,I despair at those who post every intimate detail of their personal lives on facebook and dont think that they understand the consequences of what they are doing in the long term,so Im trying to help them catch themselves on with my ever so subtle hints:pac:

I never get threads like this. I don't have anyone doing that in my news feed. Why are you friends with these people, you clearly don't have anything in common with or even like them?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,806 ✭✭✭✭KeithM89_old

If someone posts they got bad-news or has broken up i 'like' it or post lol under it, just to be a dick. Nothing else really though...

If you are wasting your time on social media you don't enjoy or gain benefit from then i would say that Zuckerberg is trolling you to be honest.

If you deleted your accounted he'd be down to 499,999,999 people, which is just an as ache to type compared to 500m.

I know a girl whose kid was feeling a bit under the weather... So she took a pic and posted it to show everyone he was sick. That's just weird!

When are people going to post their amateur porn clips on facebook.

    Thats what I'm after

Facebook is breeding ground for cynicism but I dunno which is worse...being cynical or being offended by it.

It's kinda like calling The X Factor "shameful TV parading children out for horrific criticism"...but you could only know that if you watched it...

I use it for my own selfish means yet am peeved at the lengths people go to on it.

I cant complain really but I do enjoy taking the p1ss when someone makes a ridiculous comment on facebook to appear caring/sweet/right wingish/tolerant,etc when I know the bloody truth about them.

It is my job as the seeker of truth and justice to expose such lies and muppetry uttered from friends keyboards.

You have to be 16 or over to enter the X-Factor so your argument is void!

That's when the Facebook gets moved to the top shelf and coated in transparent plastic.

[edit]: also, thread does not deliver, I see no trolls.

The X factor is inescapable. I've never watched the TV programme. I still know exactly who Mary Byrne is because these things cannot be avoided.

Facebook is well known but is, or at least can be, used positively.

I've let these people be my friends and I'd rather ignore their stupid statuses than do a 'cull' during which I congratulate the survivors. That's a worse example of dickheadery than any 'awkward moment'. Not that I haven't contemplated just removing my account but it does come in handy for us creditless types.

Couldn't agree more. I've deleted a few girls from my freinds list because of this. Almost as bad as the chicks who change their profile pics on an daily basis, sometimes even more than once per day.

Don't get me wrong, I use a hell of a lot of facebook. I'm not one of those types who pretends to hate it because that seems to be the cool thing to do. I use it as much as I'd use my phone. But there are just some absolute gob****es on it!

Out last week, a girl (i had just started to talk to) had a rabbit fur jacket on and I felt it, it was so soft but it felt a little weird to me. Dont agree. So she ask me was i going to go on facebook there and then (in the pub) and post that it felt a little weird?
I asked why would i do that and see replied, something along the lines of "so people can read about it" Im guessing she is one of those people who posts everything on FB. 'I just had cheese'...or 'checks in' everywhere!! People who post stuff when they're out are obviously aren't having that much fun!

Some people deserve it. One girl I am friends with on facebook put up a big dramatic status that she sliced her hand and it was pumping blood could someone take her to the doctor... I merely wrote "well at least you had the time to write a status about it"; she then proceeded to take pictures of it and post them up! Now it was bad in fairness, but why not just ring a doctor, not log onto facebook?

She's one of those attentions seeking women though, posting status about men being b**tards, hating her mother and all this drama!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,291 ✭✭✭wild_cat

I have this girl from school that I really dislike on my friends list just to see what she posts. Complete ass, basically tried to bully everyone but was so disliked that she was called up on it every time. Everyone tried to like her at various stages but...... She told me that her Mum thought I was a lesbian, told on me for smoking in 6th year when she was at it herself, used to laugh at a young teacher who had a bit of belly in the tight tops when she was three times the size herself, wrote hate letters to the only people ever to give her the time of day, jeered you for getting less in an exam than her etc etc.

She has little or no access to anything on my page but I have her there just for the **** she posts. I took screen shots and re posted them to my page when she was having a fight with a guy she had just kissed but was calling her boyfriend, he tore strips out of her and she made her self look like an even bigger fool by what she was responding with. Couldn't believe it when we looked at pictures from her 21st and it was just her family and two friends from college.

My friend sent me the girl in questions blog the other day to where she talks about being an ex model. All of its made up. Now that I think of it maybe the poor girl has something wrong with her and I shouldn't be so vindictive. But that argument screen shot thing is probably one of the most wanker things I have ever done on facebook. I blocked out names and everything but still.

Two of my friends on FB (one a family member) deleted comments I made this week. One comment probably deserved to get taken down, the other was just a harmless smart comment.

I've deleted them both from my friends list :D

There's a couple that I've deleted ,one person keeps putting shít like this every day "ATTENTION, ATTENTION ,BEWARE blah blah etc....." every fúcking day:rolleyes: very annoying and it's always bullshít.

The other is a married couple that keep fraping each other, Ehh, the first time it was funny, now for the millionth time it's just fúcking retarded.

Are we supposed to be sitting there saying "OOOO look they're so cool"

I used to get a bit wound up by the banalities of Facebook, as well as the appalling spelling, etc. However, a friend of mine (in RL, not on FB :P), was telling me about people who open up fake Facebook accounts, just so that they can cheat on those silly games, (Farmville being the most popular). Thats' even more annoying, as they spam up your wall with requests to join and help them out. I want to poison their crops, and burn their barns, quite frankly.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,191 ✭✭✭✭Latchy

I wished for a blight on farmville and my wish was granted = I used customise to delete all applications and requests for same :p

There is one younger annoying relative whom I keep on board simply because it saves the akwardness on meeting IRL ie, ''hey ...why you remove me from FB ? ''

My second cousin that I haven't seen since I was 10 tried to add me today.

You should have said the follow:

"I dont want to be your friend as we have nothing in common, I wish to social network in privacy without your prying eyes. I don't want you to see what I'm saying and I most certainly don't want to read what you're saying. I don't have to be your friend just because I'm related to you. You don't need every Tom, Dick and Harry on your friends list either. Would you call me up for a chat? Probaly not. So why it gods name would I want you on my facebook!!!".

Thing is she is young and I'm not out to hurt her or anything ,it's just the banality of her posts that's irritating , posting something for the sake of saying anything so using the block function just makes it easier and if she needs to communicate badly enough she can still use private message .

I enjoy ridiculing the posts of close friends, particularly spelling mistakes or grammar.

Trolling is very hard to do on Facebook. I was a very successful troll during the heyday of Bebo. God that was fun.

I had access to my friends account the other day, the night previously he had changed my profile pic to a knob and generally spammed gay comments on my profile. Anyway, I knew he was going to Limerick and wouldn't be back until the evening and as he's a die-hard Arsenal fan I posted a status suggesting he was pissed off with the transfers and was moving to Man Utd. I then spent a couple of hours discussing it with his friends and family who were utterly shocked at his move.

He apparently flipped his lid when he realized everyone thought he was now following Man Utd.

The next day I still had access to his account and posted something like following,
In 2010 8,000 secondary level students reported bullying as a result of an "embarrassing" secret being made public. To help combat this copy and paste this as your status and reply with a secret of yours to show that we all have secrets and we should be proud as they are what makes us individuals.
    And then replied with
When home alone I like to sing a dance to Britney Spears videos
At first people asked if it was a frape, I assured them it was for a good cause and had a little titter to myself. A couple of hours later I was surprised to see people posting it as their status and replying with secrets "cause its 4 a gud cause".

    People are fucking morons.

I got so sick of reading utter drivil from people I went on a cull and deleted 50 or so "friends". Haven't missed them one bit :D

A reason a lot of people don't delete "friends" is because they don't want to be seen to have less "friends" than others. Its like a popularity contest for a lot of young people, its not about who you know or if they are friends its all about numbers. The amount of times you'll meet someone for the first time on a night out etc and the next time you log onto facebook they want to add you as friends!
