I have a few hours to spare tomorrow in Perpignan, and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for a decent bike shop/ accessory shop in Perpignan. I really should have posted this last month, but fingers crossed someone will have been to one and will let me know. Thanks

Look for the 'Culture Velo' in Perpignan. Real roadie shop.

PS: Perpignan is NOT the south west of France... sorry, I am very protective of my region. Perpignan is not one of us :P

That's right. Perpignan is the capital of the French Catalonia (or North Catalonia as the Catalans would prefer to call it). This is an entirely different thing.

Not a fan of culture velo myself, but I do try to visit one whenever I go to a place that has one (along with a Decathlon).

Try Veloland at 863 Chemin de la Fauceille - other side of the main road from Decathlon, 300m from Besson heading away from Perpignan.
This is a new store with huge selection of gear & bikes. I have spent hours sitting in the car park whilst my other half went through every item in this shop.
There is also a new bike shop at Mas Guerido in Cabestany. On main road from Perpignan and hard to miss.

Made it to a Decathlon, on the advice of the local tourist office. Bought a few bibs and jerseys. Unfortunately I hadnt seen the other suggestions before I had to go home. Might convince my other half to take a spin back direction some day next week. I'm suprised France doesn't have more road bike shops, the Decathlon had everything for every sport, but seemed to only have two road bikes and the rest was for offroad.
As for my knowledge of Geography. Apologies to those I have offended!:P Perpignan is pretty much as far west as you can go on the south coast of France, but you are right, it is not South West France, It is either Catalonia or South France. And it is worth a visit. Very Pretty City centre, with no bike shops in the city centre...according to the tourist office

In towns where the E. Leclerc supermarket chain has a separate dedicated sports and leisure shop, these usually have a good selection of general cycling gear and some bikes.
