Hi all, Regfugee from the Cycling Forum, looking for advice.
The OH runs a small Therapy Clinic from the house extension. Never got planning permission for it and are now thinking of doing so for various reasons. Would this type of use be liable for commercial rates ? If so any idea how much it would cost ?
I saw a similar type use in Terenure with a Commercial RV of EUR32.00 - is this the amount per square foot or what ?
    Thanks, LG

The rates on any commercial premises are calculated by multiplying 2 figures:

ARV - Annual Rate on Valuation ( Set by the council and CANNOT be challenged)

    and

RV - Rateable Valuation which is set by the Valuation Office and effectively CAN be negotiated.

Thus the rates bill for the premises you outline is the €32 ( RV ) multiplied by the ARV for that particular area which is set by the council.

If you PM me ,i can give you all the information on this as i do contract work for a firm of surveyors who specialise in this area.

    Regards,

    Chevy RV
