Hi all thinking about sitting step 1 im finding it hard to get an answer to the following question: can an Irish doctor work as some basic grade in the US without doing a US residency program? The US programs don't transfer back here so is sitting the USMLE pointless unless I dedicate my career to working in the US? also…

Hi all

thinking about sitting step 1

im finding it hard to get an answer to the following question: can an Irish doctor work as some basic grade in the US without doing a US residency program?

The US programs don't transfer back here so is sitting the USMLE pointless unless I dedicate my career to working in the US?

also if anyone could share their experience of step 1 that'd be great
