Mortgage company processing fee

I recently switched home insurance companies and submitted the new details to my mortgage provider (KBC Homeloans). I just received a confirmation letter from KBC today saying they have updated their records and applied a €30 processing fee to my mortgage account. They also mention that I retain the right to pay this fee to avoid interest accruing thereon.

Is this fee normal practice for mortgage companies? Don't they get enough money from homeowners without charging people for what I'm guessing takes at most 5 minutes to type something into a computer?

    Seems very "Irish" to me...
