My current PC has been on it's last legs for many years.

I need a new one.. But only have €450.. and i'll only have that at the end of August,

I dont need monitors or windows,, Or keyboards/mouse.. have all that.

I dont think there's anything worth saving off my old PC.

So I need the rest. :)

The PC will be mainly used to run 3Ds max, and photoshop. I wont be rendering any massive sense to start with, But in time i will. So easy upgrading would be nice.

    Cheers

Hmm, any idea how much GPU power you need for rendering? You could get an X6 + 8GB RAM + a HD 4650 in that budget. I just don't know if the 4650 would be enough.

6 cores would be nice. But i think 4 would do for now.

unless people say 6 is a must.

You could get a Phenom II/Athlon II X4 and an AM3+ motherboard leaving you able to upgrade when bulldozer comes out?

Given price moves on everything PC related you're probably better off putting the spec. on hold if you can't buy until the end of August, else as you are in Dublin keep an eye on adverts.ie for your bits and bobs, I often see some great prices on adverts but not living in the smoke counts me out of those €20-€50 purchases

    AMD Phenom II X4 840 Box AM3 - €83.22
    ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3, Sockel AM3, ATX - €78.48
    8GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz CL9 - €72.41
Cooler Master Elite 330 ohne Netzteil schwarz - €32.97
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 550W - €51.99
    Club 3D Radeon HD 6670, 1024MB GDDR5, PCI-Express - €81.99
    Samsung EcoGreen F3 1TB,SATA II HD105SI - €42.78

    Total ;€443.84

I know there's a few euro for shipping.

    How does that look ?

If you went with 4Gb of RAM you could save €40-50 there and that might let you get a better CPU giving a more powerful overall computer (I think:))

I'd go with something like this:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Box, Sockel AM3
    ASRock 880G Pro3, Sockel AM3+, ATX
    8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9
    Samsung SpinPoint F3 1000GB, SATA II (HD103SJ)
Xigmatek Asgard, ATX, ohne Netzteil, schwarz
    Samsung SH-222AB bare schwarz SATA
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W

    €365,74 (Without GPU)

I still am not too sure how much of a GPU you need, looking it up atm.

EDIT: Something like this would be good

I know very little about this stuff, I am as much if not more of a n00b than the next guy, but taking a look around I found this,
    http://www.memoryc.com/computermemory/ddr3ram/4gbgskillripjawpc312800cl9dualkit.html
I have seen lot's of people saying G.skill is a good brand and it's 1600Mhz bus speed(same as your posted) and 1.5v which is good.

I didn't look at any other sites for RAM so this is just price you could work from.
