    hi,

just wondering whats the best way to boost my laptops performance as i'm running reason 5 and when i try play back a track i'm in the middle of making i get and error message telling me,

"computer too slow to play song, please optimize the song (see the documentation). the song can still be exported as an audio file. audio is re-enabled by pressing play or stop".

i have a toshiba laptop with windows 7 home premium 32 bit,
    processor AMD athlon x2 dual-core QL-65 2.10GHz
    RAM 2.00GB (1.75 GB usable)

so i'm thinkin this should be well enough to cover what i need, shouldn't it?

    any help greatly appreciated.

    cheers,

    es-cee

More ram would help.If you run ccleaner go to the tools section and have a look at the startup section you might be able to stop some stuff starting this would give the processor a break

You could end up spending more but your options are as follows:

Extra RAM as suggested, 32 bit Windows limits the RAM to around 3.5 GB so if you want more than that you need to update to Windows 7 64 bit.

A Solid State Drive would help too but if you need lots of storage space its really expensive.(Ordered an 80Gig one today for €150)

You could also clean up the computer as suggested.

CCleaner is a good place to start, then remove any spyware with Malwarebytes / Superantispyware.

    Defrag the hard drive too.
