I have been working since christmas as a non casual part time teacher (20 hours).

I don't get paid for holidays so my weekly wage is adjusted to take that into account.

I am wondering am i able to sign on during the summer?
It says i get 56% holiday pay so am I entitled to some benefits?

    Thanks

I'm sure what the situation is now, but 3 years ago my friend was in your position and she wasn't entitled to benefits until August sometime because of the holiday pay.

sign on straight away, you might not get anything for a couple of weeks, but if u sign on now, the time between the last paycheck and the first dole might not be too bad.
I covered a maternity leave this year so I always apply for it at midterms, easter etc, dont get anything but I was advised to cos builds up your stamps or something like that. Im no expert but thats what the social welfare officer said.

You should definitely sign on straight away regardless.
