It's a great country when people can buy a holiday home in Bulgaria with their dole money.

Complete and utter bullshit. I doubt any of the guys 'interviewed' were genuinely fiddling the system. The scene with your man questioning that fella in the empty parking garage was hilarious. I can't believe they expected people to believe the interviewees were real people.

Saw bits of it. I'd be very suspicious as to how supposedly easy it is to 'fiddle' the system. I can't get rent relief (or supplement or whatever it's called) and come out with the basic €188 a week. Not enough to pay rent, bills, food and all those other lovely/essential things. Holiday homes in Bulgaria?

If it is the case, then I would think it's such a tiny percentage of people who can do it that it's essentially sensationalist bullsh*t to do an 'investigative' style documentary on it.

I was in a hospital waiting room earlier. They had a tv3 mid afternoon style discussion programme, when one of the women on it tried to suggest it wasn't representative of normal people on the dole, she was hounded by the others.

And so it begins. Well done, tv3.

That guy wasn`t genuine, as he is the brother of one of the production team. Shame on tv3 for using such a blatant plant.

I know a couple of "single" mothers claiming Lone Parents (or whatever its called now), Back to School Allowance etc, and they're living with the kids fathers. They are better off financially than OH and me.

You have an interesting logic in when someone has to raise their game.

Lets all try our best to be better off than those who do nothing.

Its ok to be p1ssed off at long time abusers of the system who lead a more leisurely lifestyle than we do.We should be more peeved at the rules which allow the feckless to get away with it

    Yes, this is rampant.

I heard the guy who did the show being interviewed on highland radio and he said he paid some of the people money to talk.

So..He encouraged them to "fiddle the system" in order to make a programme condemning them for fiddling the system?

I hope the presenter watched it, I couldn't watch anymore after 5 mins and even that was too much of the crap.

    TV3 is BIN TV.

This is Ireland, no doubt a genuine person rightfully due welfare will have to jump through a load of hoops to get a penny. The ones who can so easily scam the system are the wasters who are a lifetime on the dole. These people seem to be outside the system to the degree that the authorities see them as permanent recipients and do little to check out their claims. These people then take on job for cash and are then laughing all the way to the bank.

    Care to back that up?

What's the reason for being reasonable?

    Is that an unreasonable question?
