    Hi Guys,

Im new to airsoft and i recently bought G&G GR15 Raider L + Walther 2X42 Top Point. My "problem" ( not sure if it actually is) is that once i mounted the scope on when im positioned and aiming through the scope the front sight of the rifle "hides" the red dot meaning i think its way too high. Is there anything i can do about it ?

As you can see below the scope has a really low profile and unfortunately the front sight of raider L is not detachable.

I know my problem is not exactly technical so apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum

get a rail for the carryhandle. their about 10euro or so. theres a scope riser on MIA's site but out of stock but itll give you an idea of what you might want

Most A-Post front sights can be removed
You need to tap out the two pins holding the sight to the barrel
You will need a small punch and a hammer, it may need a few firm taps with the hammer but dont go overboard
Many sights also have a grub screw underneath the front sling point
Remove that pin also and loosen the grub screw
It is probally a 3mm screw so you will need a 1.5mm allen key

You can also use a Scope Raiser SG Airsoft and a few others do them
It raises the scope or red dot up some 20mm above the AEG and allows you to look out over the front A post sight

You can remove the standard front sight post, but remember that it also secures your handguard, and as such you really should be replacing it with an aftermarket front sight e.g. foldable ones etc.

The funny thing is that it doesn't actually matter if the sight obscures the dot, provided you have the dot sight zeroed - it will still hit where you're aiming, and if you have your other eye open, it will superimpose the red dot anyway.

Of course, the riser/carry handle mount option is probably the path of least resistance

The Raiders front A post sight can be removed as it is not needed to support the front of the handguard like on most other M4s

I also would agree with Inari that the raiseris the best option, as it keeps every thing standard and there is less chance of damaging or scratching the front sight/barrel whils trying to remove it

Thanks everyone for the help. DeBurca i checked the rifle and indeed it seems to have removable pins but the are under a coat of paint and as you already mentioned i dont think there is a safe way to remove without scratching the barrel. So i ordered a rail to fix the issue.

Again thanx everyone for taking the time to answer :D
