Just wondering how long would it typically take for the Social Welfare to assess a means test?
Submitted all requested information after meeting inspector, and yet it's been more than two months and have heard nothing.
Is this unusual or normal considering the staff shortages etc?

It can depend on the office that is processing your claim. Some have so many claims to process there can be quite a big backlog. It's no harm to ring your local office to check to make sure the claim is being processed, I've heard of people's applcations being misplaced, not likely though, if you've seen the inspector it really shouldn't be long now.

You should apply for supplementary welfare allowance through your community welfare officer while you are waiting for your jobseekers
