Guys, you know Scope lenses can be easily cracked if it's been shot at close range. i know you might say this almost can never happen but if it happens, then say byebye to the scope, i think it is hard to replace the scope/red dot lenses.

just wondering does anyone have some genious ideas of how to protect the scope lense?

    thank you

i found this link and it looks quite usefule, i will give it a try

also, my friend is using something like this, scope lense protector, that piece of plastic can be cracked as well but better than crack your scope lense

Same as FK. The only type I've seen with broken lenses after direct bb strikes are EOTech's, but I've seen just as many of those broken due to being handled roughly.
If you're that worried, you're probably better off with iron sights, but if you absolutely must have the latest fashion accessory scope, then use some Perspex to cover the lens. Aimpoints and ACOGs can also have Killflash inserts screwed in.

But to echo above, in all my years, I've never broken one, nor seen any being broken in-game.

I've never had one broken, however on my EOTech I have the lens protector, and the lens protector has taken a direct strike. It's like eye-protection - scopes can be expensive to replace, so I'd prefer to protect them than replace them. Convoluted analogy for the win!

Some of the EOTech clones were better than others. I've seen some whose glass break just from rough handling, and others that are genuinely quite strong. That said, there are cheap and secure dedicated lens protectors for EOTechs, so it's worth the couple of dollars to order.

I was going to get a Killflash for my ACOG, simply because I'm rather fond of the look, but said ACOG has taken direct, close range hits already and shown no distress. Same story applies to my Aimpoints and even a Doctor sight.

Aye, for me it's just not worth chancing when the protectors are (mostly) dirt cheap. It's not a case of knowing that the scopes will NOT survive, but rather a case of not wanting to find out :D

hmmm i was thinking of getting this http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=72087655 and something like a protective lens would definatly help. But might be as ugly as sin

I've lost a couple of scopes & torches to BB hits (mostly in the old warehouse). Its a lot more likely to happen in CQB environments :( Although I'll agree better quality scopes should survive, I recently had my RS EOTech survive a direct hit (fortunately!).

Best option is just to cut a piece of perspex to fit over the objective lens.

I bought a 5e Killflash from QAS qhen I bought my ACOG. For the sake of 5 euro I know my ACOG won't break. Don't hav to even risk it being broken by a BB now.

There's a couple of scope shields here

Hopefully one of them might suit your needs.
