Advice re. bicycle delivery from Scotland

I'm buying a bike from Scotland, and I'm trying to find the cheapest method. Parcelforce, Fedex, DHL, etc - all the quotes I can pull off their pages are ridiculous, ~£170, and I know that I shouldn't need to pay so much. I suspect there's a way to have Royal Mail do deliveries for very little if you're willing to wait a couple of weeks for delivery, but since I'm on this end of the deal it's not as easy as simply popping 'round and asking.

Would anyone here have any advice?
