New hardrive, data all gone, anyway to get it back?

    I got a new harddrive in my laptop but alll me data is gone, the guy never told me this would happen so im pretty annoyed! Can he take the files from my old harddrive and put them on the new one?

    If the original hard drive wasn't broken then yes. If it was broken in come way then there's a chance, but no guarantees that you could get your data back.

    Oh right, okay thanks, well i assume it was broken since he told me i needed a new one..........wish the guy had warned me I'd me data and programless before fixing it!:(

    Get back to him as soon as possible.

    The drive may have been failing but not gone completely. He may still have the drive. If he has he could clone it for you so the entire system is copied onto the new drive.
