Just bring yourself, a drink, and pens, and you're sorted. Obviously extras for subjects such as Maths and DCG.

Sorry if I sound like a nutter, but are you allowed to bring a maths set and calculator into subjects where they wouldn't always be needed? I was planning on bringing them into Home Ec. I want the maths set because I keep my colouring pencils in there and they have asked very simple maths questions in the past (ie. 9 x 4.2) I don't think I could do that in my head when I'm in a rush.
And is there ever a problem with bringing a second calculator into maths?

Suppose I might as well ask this here too. I was planning on bringing in a stopwatch instead of a regular watch. Made a big mistake counting minutes on a watch in the mocks (still can't tell the time in 6th year :o). I've disabled the beeping sound on the stopwatch. I presume I'm ok to bring it in?

You should be but if you're worried just ask the examiner :) They're usually nice.

The SEC will put clocks in the exam hall so you SHOULD be ok, unless you're really far back and/or have bad eyesight!

do you reckon a hidden camera is allowed or frowned upon. havent come across it as a rule but will they see it as some attempt to cheat?

I highly doubt it. You could record whats on the paper send it to someone and get them to sent the answers back.

not like a phone or anything. i mean something like this. http://cgi.ebay.ie/USB-Spy-Pen-Video-Mini-Spy-Camera-Recorder-Camcorder-/260788197559?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item3cb83018b7#ht_961wt_1139
it cant send unless you have a usb port somewhere.
only to show people what its like in the exam and maybe get someone to judge your paper

    Don't do this.

Firstly, most superintendents will not be so well-up technologically as to be 100% sure of its capabilities, therefore if noticed it will be treated with extreme suspicion and reported to the SEC.

Secondly, it's pointless getting someone else to judge your paper. They won't have access to marking schemes etc. All you will do is set yourself up for obsessing about it all summer, and looking back again and again!

    Don't do this.

i guess, was just playing with the idea since im not interested in cheating. just be fun to show people what its like who havent done it or dont remember.
and its a nice pen to write with
