Parking ticket summons Query

A family member has got a summons for a 60 parking fine & missed the deadline to pay it. Will they need a solicitor before going to court? Court date set for mid-June & not sure what the procedure is from here on. Will they get points or big fine? Thanks

There are no points for parking offences, just a fine. In court, the fine will be larger.

From what I know, a solicitor is not needed. Just a big apology and money.

I had paid a postal order to the council, but today (following receipt of a summons yesterday) I phoned them and they are refusing to accept my postal order.

Has anyone any idea of the fines, if there was an intention to pay the fine previously
