according to digitalspy the 6 pack system is gone from 1st september along with additional charge for extra hd multi-room subscription.
anyone know if it will apply here.
a lot of rumblings about the fact that if you want documentaries and variety you will have to take the entertainment plus pack now and not just 2 mixes etc.. sky have said unofficially that you will be upgraded at no extra cost if you are an exisiting customer but new customers will have to take either the entertainment mix( variety, style and lifestyle pack) entertainment plus (all other channels).
    20 pounds and 25pounds seemingly..
anyone got confirmation of skyirelands position as to whether it will be the same here?

    I presume it will be.

In the current Sky Magazine at the bottom of the ad on pages 32-33 it says :

"Our prices and packaging are changing from September 1st"

-- This is in the Ireland version of the magazine so the changes must be happening here too.

(However, the same magazine has a two-page-spread on the "NEW" BBC channels now part of the "Bonus Pack" and states the BBC3 is on 115 and BBC4 is 116 IN IRELAND , which we sadly know is not the case -- 229 / 230)

So much for Sky's price freeze until 2013 .
On their flyer it said that if subscribers change packs the price may increase so will these changes allow Sky to charge more ?

No way will they increase prices for any customers who stick with the package they are currently on. Not looking so good if you change however...

yeah very clever marketing whizz..tell people no price increase till jan 2013 but actually increase prices in september as always for new customers and those that change to the new packs...remains to be seen if this will be the case

The following small print has appeared at http://www.sky.com/ireland
From 1 September, our packaging will be changing. More information.

If you follow the link it doesn't give you any further details, however the existance of a page with a URL ending in /ireland/packagechange/ would certainly suggest the change is coming to Ireland too!
