I was offered MY06 & MY 07's a few months ago - Nissan had quite a bit of legacy stock they were trying to get rid of.

Looks like one dealer took the plunge and regged some. Good luck to them...

Could be that the engine complies with some Euro compliance that is due to expire. Old engine technology

    Wanna be given em away

To go from flogging Mini and BMW to those yokes.

I think he would want to knock another 6k off them to make them more attractive.

These stopped production around early '07, making that car at least four years old.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,088 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

I saw one of these (11-D as well) on the M50 about 2/3 months back. Someone's buying them anyway - HAS to be better than those godawful Juke things anyway! :p

Did Nissan stop selling the Primera here without introducing a replacement ?

Have to say both Nissan and it's sister brand Infiniti, are producing some of the ugliest cars around. The front on those Infiniti's is something shocking.

What's wrong with the Primera? Solid, practically bombproof, with very few niggles. Fair enough, the look doesn't appeal to some, but I've seen worse. I had one for a good few years and it never left me down.
A few too many wannabe car snobs around this thread methinks. If it doesn't have a BMW badge they don't want know.

They're 1.6 but sometimes when you use a dealer website and sync it with carzone it doesn't sround up - eg.1598cc is listed as 1.5

Had this issue years ago in the dealer i was in but nobody in autotrader cared

Am I correct in thinking this car must be about 3 years old already? To be honest judging by the alloys on the car it isn't even one of the last ones as they changed them on the SE's to thinner spokes about a year before they went.

Beware: €630 road tax.....I work in Nissan dealer, offered these, cheap..built in 07

If it was priced at €13k I'd consider it a badly built bargain

So what is the real price of one of these? I think they would be a good buy for about 13k too.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 60 ✭✭Henree

The problem is that anybody who is in the market for a new or nearly new car wants low tax......we didnt know what they would sell for , 13k, sounds ok, but its a bit like a house in a ghost estate in Leitrim? How low does it have to be for you to buy it? We shpuld put out a pol, I would be genuinely interested what people would pay for one, remember it has a 3 year warranty, and anyway shoudnt really give you any bother....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 66,122 ✭✭✭✭unkel
    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Surely nobody in their right mind will pay anywhere near €19k for one of those?

And the dealer is looking for trouble giving a warranty on a 4 year old car on the road if it's not been serviced and if it has been sitting up for all that time. Does Nissan even give a manufacturers warranty with one of those? I doubt it...

They were one of Nissans worst cars and got worse with age as the car went through its lifespan. Don't let the badge fool you

As the car went through its life it became more unreliable due to penny pinching by Renault in the parts quality being specified. The original ones weren't bad but by the end they were not a good car

IM assuming they get full manufacturer warranty. If not, they are worthless or at best have similar value to a well used 05 / 06 model

    Full manu warranty, 3 years

Looking at dealer in question thats probably about what they paid for them. Id say the amount of moss and mould that came off them was unreal.

There are too many cheaper similar sized models with full warranty and cheap tax to be bothered buying it at anywhere near that price.

Buy a bloody Megane if you want a cheap well sized car that MUST be new(or spent a large amount of its life sitting in a field)

I'd prefer have a 75 or ZT to that model Primera and keep the €17k difference in price in my back pocket

That's funny, because I would bet a lot of money that they became an Audi dealer when they handed the BMW franchise back.

It must have been a relatively short term arrangement.

Kevin O Leary in Douglas were the Audi Dealer, the KOL with these Primeras are in Silver Springs, same company no doubt, he has one in Bandon too iirc, Opel maybe.

    I know it's hilarious.

If I was driving a 1990 Rover 414 that went through a gallon of coolant every 100 miles I'd still refer to those 11 reg Primeras as yokes.

I'd consider someone who repeatedly mentions racing and speeding on public roads in their 300bhp shopping cart as chavy, if I was a Brit. Too much Eastenders I'd say for that to have crept into your vocabulary.

You remember right! A quick google shows this from 2 years ago:

Audi Ireland appointed the Kevin O Leary Motor Group as main Audi Dealers for Cork City

Makes you wonder what didn't work out there, though I suppose 2009 was an annus horribilis for new car sales...

Audi was taken over by Blackwater Motors a little while back.

They used to have Nissan and Seat in with Audi out there. They had a yard full of Tidas at one stage. Now that would have been the sales job from hell.

I could see the appeal of one of these to a taxi or hackney driver alright. Brand new mid size saloon with a 100k mile warranty but it would want to be alot cheaper than €19k, alot cheaper.

    Where's I Was VB? :D

The Primera has really aged though.

iirc Blackwater motors had an Audi dealer event back in late 2009 when there was the severe flooding. They had loads of cars parked in the Kingsley Hotel car park. So that would indicate that KOL had the Audi dealership for not too long at all.
