    Good Morning!

I set up a coaching business this year with a specific mission and message- Ireland can and will be great, prosperous and full of opportunity. I love Ireland and I love its people. At the moment, figures are showing 1000 people are emigrating each week. I understand the necessity for some to leave and also the sadness as I wave goodbye to my closest friends and watch them head off in the hope of opportunities abroad. We don’t use the phrase, but they are economic refugees. Of those left behind, many are telling themselves that there is no point in trying to do something new or different and they stop themselves even before they begin.

So, I have set myself the task of researching businesses that have been set up in Ireland in spite of the recession.

Ideally, what I am looking for are people within the 18-35 age group who have worked as employees and who decided that they wanted to free themselves up from the corporate world and set up on their own.

I want to interview entrepreneurs and identify common threads that exist between everyone. We hear so much of businesses closing down and emigration so I want to focus on the other side of things- people staying here and making it work.

If this sounds like you then please get in touch and if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, I'd really appreciate it!

I look forward to hearing from you all!!

    Warm Regards,

    Paula

    Hiya,

I fit all of the above and love questions! I actually moved abroad in 2007 (while it was still a fun thing to do!) and moved back into the recession in 2008. PM me if I would be any use to you :)

I would send over a few initial questions so that I know a bit about you and your business and then arrange to meet for a face to face chat if that was ok! (I'd buy the coffee!)

    Thanks,

    Paula

    Hi folks,

I'm still looking for 3 more interviewees to get me up to the 15 mark! The interview will be very simple, about 6-7 questions in total that I will send you in advance! Interview can be conducted face to face in Dublin if you wish or over the phone at a pre-arranged time.

I want to hear peoples' stories and experiences, promote their business and highlight their success to my clients and contacts!

Please PM me for more information!

    Warm Regards,

    Paula

I keep getting told by my friends that there is a book in me in relation to the last few years of my life, having spent the best part of the last 2 years unemployed, I started a company last summer but due to on-going micro funding issues, I only got the business up and running very recently. I decided on a life of self employment a few years ago after having what I could only describe as horrendous problems with a series of PAYE jobs in Ireland and having the misfortune to have found myself working under/reporting to people who were utterly useless and underhand human beings.

Give me a shout if you want more info...
