Experienced Cover Band Looking For Session Guitarist/Keyboard/Singer

    Hi there,

We are a cover band based in Munster. Currently we are a 3 piece but due to a large amount of gigs wish to add an experienced guitarist/keyboard/singer.

We range from Johnny Cash to Kanye west and play from your average pub gig to College balls to Wedings.

We're all 21 and have an unusually large amount of gigging experience. At around 550 gigs we've played almost all kinds of music and all kinds of venues.

We're looking for someone who can keep up with a tight groove within any type of song and can improvise on the spot. It may be asking to much but with the amount of gigs we're booking we don't have time for a 4 month learning curve, more like 4 gig learing curve.

If you feel up for it Email me with your Musician CV and where your based.

Pay will be around 50 to 100 per gig with around 2-4 gigs a week during the summer.

    Thanks. Larry.

50 euro for a gig, is this a joke?

No it's a recession, it's honesty. If your telling me that every gig you get your getting enough money to cover transport, gear and 4 members at a lot more than 50 euro then I don't believe you.

Why attempt a thread spoil on an advert?

How often do you gig and how much does playing music make you a week to give you the right to comment negatively on an advert that you have no interest in, other than to make snide comments, hardly the actions of a professional.

Thanks, but leave the comments to a forum based post please.

well if getting paid for gigs makes me a pro i suppose i am one then, and i honestly think if you are getting 50 euro a man a gig, well you are getting ripped off, and if you think you can get someone whos any good for that kind of money........

This town (Limerick) is full of gigs that pay 50 euro a man. Of course, you don't have to play, you can sit home and dream of those €250 wedding dates. It's just supply and demand, that's all. I'd rather be playing than not.

Meanwhile, some of the finest session players in Munster are out for €50. Why, just down the road from me, I can listen to a funk set from George Michael's drummer and Nora Jones' bass player -- just one of several gigs on tonight (a Tuesday!).

I suppose you get what you pay for, right.

75 seems to be the going rate I'm getting paid for falling in with different bands. The odd 200 euro wedding, but never 50. It's easy to be busy when you're not expensive.

Anyway, we're derailing the search for a Musician for the OP. Good luck with it guys!
