I need to borrow an Ipad. Doesn't matter what kind, doesn't matter what size, doesn't even matter if its working. Now if you'll direct your eyes downwards, I'l explain why

Q - Matthew, why do you need to borrow/ have an ipad?
A - Well you see, back in christmas 2010, my mum and my sister paid for me to get an ipad(my mum paid £350, my sister £70 I believe.)In february/March 2011, with the imminent arrival of the Ipad2, I asked and received permission from my mother to sell my original, as long as I re-bought an Ipad2. So I did. And now its june, and unfortunately with moving out, debs, graduation , leaving cert, and some unfortunately timed hospital bills, I've thus been unable to get an ipad2. Now here's the clincher, my sister is coming to visit for 4 days on June 21st. And she mentioned she wants to see the ipad, and she's already suspicious I've sold it. Now I get very well with my sister. Very well indeed. And if she finds out I sold the ipad, she'll be very upset indeed. So I need one to prove to her I didn't sell it for the time she's here, the next time she visits being christmas again, and I'l definitely have an Ipad2 by then.


Q - Why would we trust some random guy off a forum?
A - Well thats an excellent question indeed. And the answer is, if you don;t, you don't. But you can see my excellent feedback on adverts. You can have my full name, school, address, come into my house, sit on my couch. You can borrow my playstation 3, or my iphone 4, as collateral if you wish.


Q - How long do you need it for, any kind?
A - Yes, any kind. It doesn't even need to work. Long as I can show it her. And I'l need it for say. 20th - 25th.26th June.

She cant be that much of a friend/sister if she cant understand that due to circumstances, many beyond your control, have conspired to ensure that you are now ipad less, but you've paid a few bills and are back healthy again.......
She'll understand lad and anyway, lies like this will always come back to bite you and make you look far worse than if you had come clean in the first place.

Just tell her the truth that you sold it for the iPad2, but due to hospital bills you were unable to purchase the iPad2 and that you are saving up for it again. Better you tell her the truth than lie to her. She should understand by now that technology changes as much as you're underwear and that you like to keep up with it. Nothing wrong with that.

How long do Apple take repairing things? Cos I already told her it's at Apple when she came over for a day 2 weeks ago. But if it's typically ages, then that might work. I'm on the verge of selling my PS3 to get a new ipad here. I don't want that

How about I take these and your TV and stereo off your hands for a few days? Call your sister a few nights before she arrives and tell her that you've been burgled. A few nights after she leaves you can call her again and tell her they retrieved all the stuff (except the iPad if you decide you don't want to replace it after all).

The truth is simpler but my plan gives your more flexibility.

the sad thing is, its so simple you could almost see some poor sap falling for it!

(a) lie and say its in repair
(b) lie and say it was in and out of repair so often that they gave you a refund
(c) tell her it was only €70 and to get over it
(d) tell her that you had to sell it to get your new kidney (or whatever you got done) and if she really loved you she would have paid for the hospital instead of making you pawn your assets in the middle of the leaving cert.

If you got with (d), you might guilt her into getting the iPad 2 for you!
