can someone please explain why we are getting more northerly winds in both summer and winter for the past 2 years. is this a sign of things to come, ie cooler summers and colder winters with heavy snowfalls ?

I wouldnt know, as a non expert I would have a wild guess and say maybe the north atlantic drift/ gulfstream isnt doing its job. Im probably talking Shi#e though!

Theres been a good few threads over the last year talking about how the weather has changed, thats probably why nobody responded.

Check this thread out from last week.

It mentions how the weather is a change in the NAO (north atlantic oscillation).
The question is why is the NAO going negative a lot, could be many reasons, one of which could be a quiet sun with less solar activity.

thanks for the info ,its probably got to do with the NAO alright but as your saying why is it going negative more than positive?
