Hi guys just like most of you, I have lost my job and have gotten back into cycling, just have mtb at the moment but plan on getting a road bike. Throwing around the idea of getting a tandem also. Have any of you any experience with tandems or where best to look for one. They seem to be hard enough to find not many irish stockists.
spotted this one though, dunno about the quality of it so hopefully a few tips will be given

Pop into the Phoenix Park and try one out there, I'm petty sure the bike hire place has one or two.

Why would you want a tandem?

If it's to get the other half out cycling and she's not that into it, I'd put her on a light road bike and you on a MTB to even things up a bit. I've seen a fair few couples lately where the guy is on a road bike and the girl is on a city hybrid. That's not fair, unless her name is Siobhan Horgan.

If that's not the reason, ignore the above.

Don't fancy dragging her around on the back of a tandem
