    I traded my savage 22 mag in for a 22lr but kept my scope it's a hawke 6x12x50 is this too powerful for this gun

    No bother - it'll do fine. The 50mm objective lens will be useful for gathering light at dawn and dusk.

    I've a Simmons Whitetail Classic 6-24X50 on my .22LR. Usually left at 10X. Just adjust the magnification to power needed. A bit of extra magnification no harm & is handy if zeroing or target practice to zoom in to see hits.

    It'll be grand, I have an Anschutz .22LR with a Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15X50 scope on it and its top notch !!!
