Thanks a million FatRat your a life saver.

    D’imigh na daoine
    Amach chun na míntíre;
    Tá’n Blascaod Mór ciúin anois,
Leis féin os cionn na taoide.
    Is cuimhin leis páistí beaga
    Ag súgradh ar an trá,
    Is naomhóga ag iascaireacht
    Amuigh go domhain sa bhá.
    Daoine ag insint scéalta
    Cois tine, mall san oíche,
Ceol a sheinnt ar veidhlín -
    Ní chloisfear arís é choíche.
    Ach b’fhéidir go bhfuil taibhsí
    Ag insint scéal nó dhó
    Cois tine ar an mBlascaod,
    Faoin saol ‘bhí ann fadó

Right, the main theme would be Uaigneas (loneliness). I'll try and keep it simple.

Is é an dán Gaeilge a rinne mé staiséar air ná An blascaod mór anois le :name of author here:

Tá an dán seo bunaithe air oileáin na mBlascaod a bhí lán do dhaoine uair amhain san am atá caite. Ach anois is oileán uaigneach é gan aon duine ag marachtaint air.
Tosnaíonn an dán leis an file ag rá gur d'imigh gach éinne ón oileáin agus gur chuaigh siad go dtí an míntíre. Deireann an file go bhfuil "Na mBlascaod ciúin anois" mar thoradh de seo. Leannan an file ar aghaidh ag rá gur cuimhin leis an oileáin conas a bhí sé fadó agus cén sóirt saol a bhí ag na daoine a bhí ina gconaí air. Deireann an file gur cuimhin leis an oileáin "Na páistí beaga ag súgradh ar an trá" agus na "Doine ag insint scéalta". Tá na cuimhní seo ag an oileáin ach ní bheidh a thuilleadh cuimhní aige toisc nach bhfuil daoine ina chonaí air níos mó tá siad go léir imithe anois. "Tá na mblascaod ciúin anois".
Chríochnaíonn an dán go láidir agus an file ag rá beidir go bhfuil taibhsí ann anois seachais na daoine agus íad ag insint scéalta mar gheall ar cuimhní na hoileáin. "Ach b’fhéidir go bhfuil taibhsí Ag insint scéal nó dhó" "Faoin saol ‘bhí ann fadó"

Thaispeánn :poets name: gur sárfhile é san tslí ina chuireann sé an téama "Uaigneas" os ár gcomhair sa dán An mBlascaod Mór anois. Is dán ana-éifeachtach é mar chuireann sé an leithreoir ag smaoineamh ar na h-athruithe sosíalta a tagann ar áiteanna íargualta agus na torthaí a bhíonn ag baint leo. Tríd lár an dán tugann an file pictiúir iontach duínn do oileáin atá lán do dhaoine agus íad ag baint taitneamh as an saol "Páistí beaga ag súgadh ar an trá" Ach, ag deireadh an dán tugann sé pictiúir gruama dúinn do oileáin gan aon duine le feiscint air ach amhain taibhsí. "Beidir go bhfuil taibhsí ann" Tá gach duine imithe ón oileáin agus tá an oileáin fágtha go huagneach gan aon duine ina chonaí air a thuilleadh.
Tríd is tríd tá an téama "uaigneas" le feiscint go mór sa dán seo agus cheapaim feín gur fhile den scoth é :poets name: San tslí ina bhfuil an teama leagtha amach ós ár gcomhair aige.

This would definitely get you 15/15 I'd say, but only if the theme of loneliness came up. And it does come up pretty regularly. There is other themes to do with this poem but it would take too long for me to write about them all. I hope the above isn't too much or too confusing. I'll translate it sure.

    Translation:

This poem is based on the blasket islands that were once full of people in the past. But now it's a lonely island with nobody living on him.
The poem starts with the poets saying that everybody left the island and went to live in the inlands. The poet says "The Blaskets are quiet now" as a result of this. The poet goes on to say that the island remembers how he was a long time ago and what type of live the people living on him had. The poet says that the island remembers "The small children playing on the beach" and "The people telling stories". The island has these memories now but he won't have anymore memories again because there is no people living on him anymore they all left. "The blaskets are quiet now" The poem finishes strongly with the poet saying that there is ghosts on the island now instead of people and that they are telling stories about the memories of the island. "Maybe there is ghosts there telling a story or two" "About the life the island had a long time ago"

:poets name: Shows he is a great poet in the way that he puts the theme of lonliness in front of us in the poem "An mBlascaod Mór Anois" . It's a very efective poem because it puts the reader thinking about the social changes that occur in remote areas and the results these changes bring. Throughout the middle of the poem the poet gives us a great picture of an island full of people and them enjoying their lives. "Small children playing in on the beach" But at the of the poem the poet gives us an ugly picture of an island with nobody on it apart from ghosts. "Maybe there is ghosts there" Everyone has the left the island and the island is left lonely without anybody living on it anymore.
Though and through the theme of lonliness is clearly visible and I think :poets name: Is a great poet in the way he lays out the theme in front of us so well.

After this I think I might end up doing this poem! Even though we haven't done it in school.
Anyways, I hope it's alright and not too long or confusing. Good luck with it!
