Fantasy Football with a twist

    Hi all,

I hope this is not in violation of any post rules but wanted to let you know about a new Irish Fantasy League that's 100% not for profit and certainly just for the enjoyment of those interested in American Football, Fantasy Football and local pride!!

The Dublin Bowl will be a 12 team NFL based Fantasy Football league (Yahoo) with 2 divisions of play. Each Franchise Owner who signs up to take part in the league must follow a team naming convention based around a Dublin (or Ireland) place name and nickname e.g. Kilbarrack Kickers, Blanchardstown Bombers etc...Owner will also have to take part in 'media' activities such as interviews (via email/twitter/ etc), interact with fans on facebook, feature on the podcast etc.

In essence, we want to set up a Fantasy League that runs like a pro league but is purely just for fun and helps garnish future fans of this great game.

If anyone is interested in getting involved as an Owner in the league they can email their details and proposed team name to thedublinbowl@gmail.com - there will be a small fee involved once we get up and running to purchase the league trophy (approx €10). That's not an issue right now, we're initially just looking for some like minded souls who might be interested in playing!

I think it will be good fun for all involved or even just for those who follow their 'local' fantasy team on it and enjoy the podcasts and blogs!

Our contact details for anyone interested is:

    Our website is http://www.thedublinbowl.com
    Twitter profile is http://twitter.com/TheDublinBowl

Thanks for reading and apologies if this is in the wrong place or in violation.

Hope to interact with many of you over the next few months here on board.ie or on twitter etc :)

All the best and death to the lockout!! :D

    Cheers

    The Commisioner

Thanks for the comments guys. Much appreciated. With regard to price, I genuinely hope to not have to charge anything at all if I can get a sponsor for the trophy. Definitely no more than €20 and reckon if we don't get a sponsor but get 12 owners at €10 we would get a lovely trophy for the winner. Not in It for money reasons.

Thanks all and please feel free to spread the word!

Good for ye... It's great to know there are others out there with as much love for Fantasy NFL as I do! I am happily the league manager of an NFL.com game with nine others, friends of mine from Wexford, Wicklow and Cork.

How does the Yahoo version compare as a matter of interest? I find the NFL.com one excellent, but that is all I know!
