New RAM - Blank Screen no BIOS

Hey guys, just bought a new eMachines e732 laptop, 2gb RAM comes stock. It can take a max of 8gb of RAM. I bought a 4gb stick the other day, opened up the whole machine, popped it in along with the 2gb, and then power on, blank screen and showing no bios, but fan comes on and led's. Its PC3-10666 and 1333mhz same as the 2gb chip.

    So either:

A: The ram I got isnt playing nice with the laptop, or
    B: The ram is faulty.

    Any suggestions?

It's basically one or the other, hard to tell without trying another. eMachines systems aren't particularly fussy about the RAM they take but there's a possibility you may need specific memory for that machine.

If you remove the 2GB chip does the 4GB work on its own?

Yeah it could need be specific alright.

Tried the 4gb on its own but no joy, same outcome. Putting the 2gb in and its back to normal! Just odd because there is no beeps from the motherboard or whatnot.

    There are two possibilities
First if you didn't earth yourself you could have damaged the Ram with static electricity
Second..could have faulty when you purchased it...
Most Ram manufacturers offer a lifetime warranty so you should get it replaced easily
