    Hey Guys,

Can anyone recommend a good bartape? There seems to be many different types. I just got a new boardman and I dont really like the bartape, I would prefer something with a more tactile/nicer feel.

    Cheers

Personally I really like the Fizik Dual tape - it's a bit of a PITA to fit (because it doesnt stretch it needs to be wrapped tight) but once on it's very comfy and durable

+ 1 on the Lizard Skins DSP. Yes it is expensive, but once you try it, you'll be hooked, there is nothing like it, beautiful stuff. Its also p!ss easy to put on.

Is cif.jpg safe for cleaning the Lizard Skins? I 've got it but I haven't put it on yet.

I prefer brown bartape. I had blue before but found it uncomfortable over long distances.

TBH make up removal wipes work the best ( herself nearly died when she saw them being more effective than white spirits :D ). Just be careful not to scrub too hard in the one spot as it can tear the textured bits. Just bear in mind you wont be able to bring it back to looking like new.

Maybe its something to do with the texture, but the white doesn't seem to get as grubby as standard white tape, yeah it gets dirty but doesn't look minging. Using gloves that dont have black palms definitely does help though.

Right so then, Lizard Skins is da biz 'cos it saves you 50 watts @ 40 kmph, so dont use anything else.

I use Cinelli Cork Bar Tape because it's the 'Euro' thing to do.

Or is it just because it has the word "Cork" in its name? :)

Does anyone make anything like heatshrink tubing for use as an alternative to bartape?

I think you'll find that the authors of the Euro Rules paid a visit to Cork before writing up said rules. Apparently, these rules are just a documentation of what they observed on this trip. Cork = Cycling Fashion Capital

Would recommend Specialized Bar Phat, gel cushioned. Great for our not so smooth roads
