Just saw the ad on tv which made that claim...
Turns out the MG 6 based on a Roewe 550 from China which is already three years old. In my eyes its hideous:eek: And probably not that fast with a 1.8 turbo putting out 160bhp...
I cant see this selling strongly, are they even importing it to Ireland?
What do you guys think of it?

The engine is basically a k series too, can't see anyone buying one really over here, that k and c crowd I think they are called are The Irish dealer for them.

This thread just reminded me of seeing a new MG in China earlier this year and wondering about it then. I think it was this model but can't be sure. I dont know much about cars but I knew they hadnt been brought out here at that time.
It looked nice enough as far as I can remember.

K&C in Churchtown would possibly be the only people who'd import it. They do have it on their website, but they also have the MG Zero (the ZR "replacement"). Which is a concept. And hideous. Looks like someone shunted a DS3 and managed to remove any charm from it at the same time.

I know one of the sales chaps there in K&C Garages and I'm going to take it for a spin. No intention of buying one, just to satisfy my curiosity. I'm expecting it to have similar build quality to a Kia. Suppose to be late this year before they get a demo in.

It will look nice in the right colour, not in silver anyways as it does nothing for me.

These cars wearing MG badges will make as much an impact as Daewoos swapping badges to Chevrolet imo. It might stand a chance of selling a few if it was available here with a diesel engine and priced competitively along side budget brands.

They are still building 75's? is that next on the import list.....? Is this new car being built in Longbridge???

This is a lovely car hamstrung by a lack of a diesel engine and the fact that the only petrol unit is outdated and behind the times, with terrible emissions. K & C also haven't been very good at relaunching the MG brand so far with their optimistic pricing of the reborn TF; who's to know they won't mess up with this one too.

I'd like to see it do well all the same. The Irish are a notoriously conservative bunch though, so winning customers will be no mean feat.

The Chinese 75 won't be seen here, the mg6 is longbridge assembled.
