The flag is start and finish, anti-clockwise from flag as you look at the map

Just bumping this, for those racers among you who might want a little challenge, to get the heart rate up and the legs pumping before you take on the WW200 on Sunday ;)

Is the Christy Mac Manus a handicap? Any idea of the handicap? What time is sign-on closing ? 1:30 I guess.

It's a good circuit, I've raced it previously.

Two climbs per lap for 7 laps. Tawfeeredux and Diarmuid are in. So the rest of us are racing for third place.

Is it the same route as the Hammond memmorial.
If its a different route is it a uphill or downhill finish.
more or less hilly then hammond?
    thanks.

It's not the same. The long big climb in the Hammond isn't in it. Lots of shorter drags. It finishes at the same spot as the Hammond

Thanks diarmuid, thats a fast finish, you need to be very near the front going into the last bend.

you sure do. The trick is not to have many around at that stage ;)

Hoping to make it down for this with there being an A4 only race. Bit of a retrieval mission after getting an ass whooping from the A3's last night

3 boards heads in the break today. Tawfeeredux got 4th, I got 6th and Diarmuid got an unplaced A3.

Hard enough race today. A3s didn't get much of a handicap over A2s. Three main breaks during the race, Diarmuid in all of them! Bridged across to the last one (with 2-3 laps to go? can't remember) & about 12 of us stayed away til the end. Hugh from Carrick Wheelers attacked on a crest just before that fast left bend before the finishing straight & took the win. Fair play to him, he had about 3 digs in the last few kms before that. Guys from Barrow Wheelers & Eurocycles 2nd & 3rd (forgotten their names). Pipped on the line myself for 4th.

    Edit:
    1 Hugh Mulhearn (Carrick Wheelers RC);
    2 Brian Cullen (Barrow Wheelers):
    3 Pat Deegan (EuroCycles)

Did about 72k of the 77k in the breaks. Disappointed with the result, had good legs but made some wrong decisions in the last 2km. C'est la vie.....
Hugh had a good ride, he was in two of the breaks and was very strong.

Did the A4, (had to redeem myself after a dimall showing at the swords race thursday night-first time i was dropped in over a year!), was sickened i missed the break, i was riding at the front at the time and just let them ride off, ( its too early, they haven't a notion of making it stick i thought), sat in, realized they were not going to be caught, had a few digs off the front, after 3 weeks off the bike due to infection im not back long enough to make them work, watched the 2 orwell lads go off the front, watched them for a while and said fcuk it, these boys look strong, bridged across to them and stayed off the front for a while-didnt stick, got caught and sat in again for a while. jumped at the small drag before the corner and held off the bunch to come home seventh. a bit disappointed with my race but im still building myself back up so!! still,a few more points would have been nice. well done to diarmuid and tawfeeredux on their result.

Ah so your jimbo !! I was on the black canyon orwell gear, Didnt like how that race payed out i knew swords wanted the win but it was gifted by them not riding and slowing the pace up when they came to the front, they only rode when we rode off the front, even the marshalls said it to them, would of been better attacking on lap 2 but i never knew the break would get so far up the road i laughed when a team mate went in the first 2km

Not strong enough! (I was the other Orwell). Fair play to the lads in the break. That gap just kept growing, like the apathy in the bunch

I thought it was great they stayed away best way to win, but was totally bemused and never seen team orders fly through the A4 bunch like that, one of the guys from nass was ordered not to ride and called back when he came up the front !! madone and the rest of the bray guys seemed to accept it was robs race . Next time out i ll run with anyone who wants to run up the road ;) from the gun fortune does favour the brave

I was marshalling at the last corner before the finish, The wife of one of you 2 Orwell guys was watching from there with your son, who must have said hiya to me and the other 2 marshals a hundred times, nearly lost concentration on the job with him, he's really cute.

The Bray plan went out the window from the off AFIK, the plan was always to work for Rob, but the attack was supposed to happen on the 2nd lap, I think Rob just felt strong enough to go for it, so he did. Actually thought you 2 were going to bridge the gap, but you could have done with another 2 or 3 with you

Would have liked to have been in the break aswell!
Killed a few of us to stay put, but were delighted to hear Rob won. So worth it in the end. Nice moves from Jimbo

Hugh only came off a block of nights this week so he did well ..
