currently have mavic cxp33 rims on 105 hubs and they are fine but I am looking for something a bit lighter. not sure wheather to just go for something lighter or would it be worth my while getting something with deep section rims (50/60mm). they will only be used for road riding, no TT or tris, and have to be strong enough to carry 100kg.

What's your budget and how heavy are your current wheels? For the usage which you've described deep sectioned rims will probably be more of a hindrance than of benefit. If I were to buy another pair of wheels that I don't need I'd probably plumb for these at the moment. If you buy them from this link you can get a further 40% off by applying the 'pro40' code.

I had a friends mavic cosmic elites on the bike for a couple of days and really noticed the difference. was gonna spend 500-600 on a similar set. was then thinking of spending more on deep section rims but with all the wind recently probably not a good idea.
