Maths........ paper two is very easily understood, learn the theorems do the other questions a few times and I garruntee you'll get the hang of it. Most of comes straight from your tables book. I'd be looking to get close to 100% in paper II if I want to get an A.

Paper one isn't as easy because it's unpredictable. Learn the basics, mostly algebra and graphs. Paper one, for me anyway is very hard to get 85% in..... so just make up for it in paper II. I really can't get over how easy it is. You need to learn nothing other then where the formulas are needed (you dont need to learn them just where to put them) and the theorems.

Most importantly, use your head on the day. Some stuff will come up that you don't understand but if you really think about what's being asked, it will probably, eventually, come to you.

I'm the opposite really. I got 93% in Paper One and 85% in Paper Two in the Mocks. But I don't think I will do that good in paper one again, the questions just suited me.

Paper two is very doable. As mention, you know what you're getting before you go into the exam. For trigonometry, you basically just need to learn two or three formulas... It's fairly simple to get fifty marks. Same with area and volume and statistics. Co-ordinate geometry too, but I find some of the part c's tough, but you don't need to be able to do everything. Also, if you know your theorems and your constructions, they are easy marks in the exam. If you don't learn your theorems, you're in trouble for the geometry sections. If if they are not examined, you will still need to know a lot of them to solve the other questions.

Maths has already been covered, so the only real tip I can give you for English is to be as flowing with your writing as you can. I notice a lot of people go in with a definite idea of what they'll write and I feel this takes away people's ability to adapt their knowledge to the question asked. Try not to be rigid, but keep order to your writing.

Paper 1 FTW! Way easier, sorry I can't give you advice on how to ace it or anything, Maths just works for me.

As well in math, if all else fails and you don't have a clue what to do in the question, never leave a blank! Make an attempt or a few attempts you can get marks. Never rub anything out for the same reason:D
For English, have poems studied in a range of themes and have answers maybe not quite learned off by heart but well known for a range of questions for drama and fiction. For the rest of the paper just good luck:p

May be a bit late to be saying this but here I go..

For Maths, do papers, papers, papers, when you've the papers done, do them again (or ask your teacher for mock papers).

For English.. I have no idea. I got an A in my English JC (and Maths, but I studied that) and I got 50% in my mock. Not a clue how I went up, I didn't care what I wrote, because no one I knew personally would be reading it!

I thought the same back in '08... I always loved paper one, and paper two was death!

    Now its reversed, haha.

The nice thing about maths is that there is 600 marks overall, which mean theres room for losing a lot of marks but still getting an A.

Not the same with english though. One big slip in english like not having enough time or picking a bad topic for Personal Writing will cost you a lot!
