Hello all, I am ex infantry but currently studying for my masters degree. My research is designed to improve the working environment for Corpsmen and Combat Medics. Contributions from PDF or RDF personnel would make a great addition to the research.

As part of the research I have published a short 10 question completely anonymous questionnaire (link below). Any contribution would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Sincere thanks in advance,

    Darragh.

    Questionnaire located here -

Are you the one who was looking to find applications for 'enhanced reality'?

I'm apparently not eligible to answer your survey (from the questions) but I'm surprised if you think that the opinions of combat veterans (including those trained as combat lifesavers) are not even worth hearing. I do command some medics as well as mortarmen and cavalry, after all.

The other thing is that your first question immediately rules out RDF and PDF, due to the requirement to have belonged to NATO.

    NTM

Sorry if I have caused offense. Certainly wasn't my intention since I am appealing for help after all. There is no intended elitism at all in my wording of the questionnaire but I think you will appreciate that the academia insists that I am very specific in my research. By the sounds of your experience, I certainly would like to get your insight. It is worth noting, that the only personal detail recorded is the contributors country of origin.

I do of course recognise that PDF and RDF members are not officially NATO Forces but as contributors to the UN Forces I thought it would be fantastic to get some Irish input.

If anyone is interested in contributing. It is simply a case of answering Yes to the three qualifying questions.

Feel free to PM me if you want more information.

Incidentally, the Irish Defence Forces are the only DF outside of NATO that I am inviting to participate in the questionnaire due to the unique contribution and history of the Irish Army.

All others are excluded or else the research would take 10 years to compile.

I was a medic in the RDF for 3 years (transferred to artillery since then).

You'd be hard pressed to find an RDF medic who has any frontline experience.
