    Hey,

Just wondering, I have a full B license for 6 years, I need an EB for work, do I have to do a theory test to get my provisional EB and then the 10 hours or whatever it is supervised before my test??

    Thanks

I'm in the same boat, need to sit theory test - even though driving 16 years, i've had full licence 10 years, and am accident and claim free.....

    Feels unfair.

If you've been driving for 16 years then the theory test should be easy and if not it'll be useful to actually know the current laws.

    Sorry what I meant was.

That the theory test should be easy with 16 years of driving experience, if it's not easy then you'll have to learn the laws. Never meant to imply you don't know the laws.

I would go straight to the motor tax office and fill in the forum for the learners EB. I was in a similar situation and thought I had to redo the theory, I went straight to the motortax and got my learners EC because I had done the theory test for the C previous and they had a record of it. Also didnt have to do a medical either which is required for C licences.

But mine was well over 2 years, it was more closer to 5 years. You have 2 years in which to hand it to the tax office to get a licence, but once they have it on file it seems its accepted. I have since told other person this, and they didnt have to redo it when going for a EC after having the C done 5 or 6 years previous and this was in another motortax office.

The medicals expire when the licence expires, so if you get a ten year licence you can get other category's during that time without redoing the medical

i think we've got our wires crossed, the cert is valid for 2 yearsand has to be submitted to the licence authority within that time but once its there i dont think you need to do one again unless you want to get a new learner permit which the original cert doesnt cover
