Im hoping someone can help with some advise before I lose my mind altogether.

I have a 01 BMW 316, bought in December. Today it seems to have developed a mind of its own. The lock on the door (key fob hasnt worked since I bought it) has decided to stop working when it feels like it. When I get it to lock, all four windows go down. When I get the windows up the boot pops. When I close the boot the door wont lock again.

If anyone can guide me towards what might be wrong Id appreciate it. Ive already spent a fortune fixing oils leaks, and I only collected it from a garage at 2 o clock today (fourth visit this month) having the brake lines replaced cos the NCT testers spotted some rust.

BTW is it possible that something the mechanic did could have triggered this? I doubt that the electrics would be affected by the brakes, but Ive only had he problem since I collected it. Probably just a coincedence...
