Yeast free diet? Advice needed.

    Hello all,
    I had a quick search and could find no info.
    I am starting a yeast free diet from monday and was looking for some help. There is plenty of info online about what is allowed and what is not, but its pretty generic, and I am looking for stuff particular to the irish market.
    I was shopping in a Tesco extra there and had great difficulty finding a yeast free yoghurt, for example. Plenty of pro-biotics, but they all had milk, so that rules them out AFAIK. Does anyone have any brands or shops to get them in?
    Also, I am struggling to find some stuff to drink. I drink a lot of coke, powerade and tea, so all three are gone. I have tried a few twinings, but cannot get a taste, and I dont like soda water. So am I left with just water??
    I wont be taking alcohol for the duration, so that end of it is fine.
    I stocked up on Porridge oats and soya milk for the first time in my life. That should be interesting.
    If anyone has any help/advice/tips please feel free to give them.
    And mods please move if/as appropriate.

    Why can't you have yogurts? Are you also going dairy-free? It might help us give you ideas if you tell us exactly what you're cutting out of your diet as well as yeast.

    Apologies. I am only going by what I have read. From what read, yeast is in all dairy, so I presumed it was all gone. Specifically, I am trying to cut out every bit of yeast that I can. This is a personnal diet, and not initiated by a doctor, so I am fairly in the dark on a lot of it. Just trying to get some help.

    Sorry OP I don't think you can have any form of soya either as it is fermented as far as I know. I was on a yeast free diet a few years ago but it also means no sugars of any kind as sugar feeds the yeast fungus. So no fruit of any kind either, you can have Rooibos Tea which takes a while to get used to but it ok. You can have a type of sugar you can get in the health food shop in your tea. Can't remember the name of it but its expensive enough. Other sugar substitutes like sweetners Candarel etc are not allowed either. No potatoes, no pasta, no bread of any kind. I found it best to have eggs for breakfast poached. Protein like skinless chicken and salad or lots of natural fresh veg for lunch, and maybe tinned tuna/salmon for tea with salad again. You are really limited and it is quite a difficult diet, but the up side of it was I lost quite a lot of weight and felt much better with more energy etc when I got used to it. Apple Cider vinegar is very good also to kill the fungus as is lots and lots of garlic! Hope this helps and that you have success.
